Term 2 Week 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week you received notification from the Catholic Schools Office in regards to the continued transition back to full time school.  Mr Mowbray outlined the direction of the Diocese with all classes in our Diocese returning for three days next week and full time from the 1st of June.

Next week we will have all students at school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday as Home Learning Days.  We will still provide supervision for those students who need to be at school on Thursday and Friday and these students will work on their weebly.

We are so excited to be able to welcome all of our students back full time from Monday the 1st of June.

What Can I Do To Support The School?

  • Parents need to continue to drop off and pick up their students from outside the school gate. Please do not come into the school to collect your child or drop them off.  We are asking that you do not come in to the grounds to drop your child off at their classroom in the morning.  This is a strong recommendation from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee.
  • If you do need to enter the school grounds, can you please contact the office first?
  • If your child is sick, even a little bit, please keep them at home. Any child that presents unwell at school will be sent home.
  • Please send a water bottle with your child, we are not able to use the bubblers at the moment.
  • Class rolls will return to normal from the 1st of June, if your child is away please note it on Compass.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to your class teacher or contact the office.

The weebly will continue to be used for home learning days. Students will be working on consolidating and further exploring the concepts that are being taught during the three days of Formal classes.

Kindergarten 2021

2021_Enrolments_Now_Open.jpg

We are currently in our enrolment period for Kindergarten 2021, our enrolments are looking very positive for our 2021 class and we have 15 students on our Kindergarten list for next year, with a number of new families joining our school community.  If you have a child starting Kinder next year, please contact the office to get an enrolment pack.   If you know anyone that has a child starting school next year please let them know to contact the office to request an enrolment pack and book a school tour.

Uniform

All students are expected to be in full winter uniform from Week 6.  If your children are anything like mine, they have outgrown their winter uniform from last year.  Don’t forget to check before the 1st of June to make sure it still fits.

Would you like to be involved?

We are going to begin to redesign our outdoor play spaces and we are looking for people who would like to help in this process.  The design group will include, parents, students and teachers.

If you would like to be involved in this exciting project and have a say about how our new playground will look please contact the office.

World Support Staff Day

This week we celebrated World Support Staff Day.  I would like to thank Mary, Jo, Carol, Jane, Natasha, Roz and Kylie for everything they do to make our school the wonderful place it is.  Their genuine care and concern for staff, students and families is a true gift.  Every day we are blessed by the little things they do, whether it be reading with a child, helping with a difficult maths task, being a friendly ear or answering questions.  Without them we would certainly be lost.

Have a wonderful fortnight and please join me in saying a prayer of thanks for our fantastic support staff.

God Bless
