Dear Parents and Carers,
What a busy few weeks we have had! Last week we celebrated Mother’s Day and Catholic Schools Week with a family BBQ lunch, open classrooms and a liturgy. It was so wonderful to be able to welcome families back into our school and the children loved being able to show off the work they have been doing in class. A special thanks to Anna and Peter MacMillan who cooked the BBQ and manned the Mother’s Day stall and to Year 4 and Mrs Bonser and Mrs Lapi-an who hosted our liturgy.I hope that all of our Mothers had a wonderful day on Sunday and enjoyed some special time with their families.
Save the Date
Please remember that we will be meeting on the 25th of May at 5.30pm to formally vote as a community on the model of parent group we will follow. Zoom will be an option of attendance for those people who are unable to get to the school. If you would like to participate in the vote and are unable to attend the zoom or the meeting, please don’t hesitate to contact me with your preference for either the P&F model or the Parent Engagement Model.
Naplan
This week our Year 3 and 5 students participated in NAPLAN with all other students in the country. This assessment provides us with some great data on where our students are sitting, their strengths and needs and we use the data to inform our planning.
School Support Staff Day
Next week we will recognise our School Support staff. The support staff that we have at St Joseph’s are an amazing and special group of people. Their genuine care and support of all students in our school is superb. Thank you to Mary, Jane, Natasha, Ros, Tori and Aunty Kylie for all they do each and every day to support our staff and students.
Storytime with Ms Monkley and Mrs Hunt
This week our Storytime starts at 2.45pm every Friday. If you are a parent who has children at home, please come along for your children to share in a story while you are waiting for school pick up and enjoy a cuppa with some other parents.
Enrolments now open
Our Kinder 2022 enrolments are now open, if you are planning on sending your child to Kinder next year or know someone who is interested in coming to our beautiful school please contact the office for a school tour with Mrs Hunt and an enrolment pack.
Please join me in saying a prayer of thanks for all of our Mothers who are so instrumental in shaping our lives.
God Bless
