Dear Parents and Carers,
This week I have continued to meet with our Kindergarten 2024 students and their families. It is such a pleasure to meet the wonderful young students that will join our school community next year. Places are filling fast for 2024. If you know someone that is considering our school for next year, please encourage them to contact the office.
Athletics Carnival
Our Athletics Carnival which was held on the 24th of May was a fabulous success. Congratulations and thankyou to Mr Knoke for his organisation of a fantastic carnival. It was so heart warming to see the sportsmanship and encouragement that our students provided to each other on the day. Well done to our age champions and our school athletics team that will go on to represent our school at the Regional carnival on the 15th of June.
Spelling and Maths Bee
Over the past few weeks I have been spending time in classrooms conducting class spelling and math bees. It is one of my favourite times of the year and I get to witness first hand the growth and development of our students in their spelling and maths skills. On the 25th of May we held our School Finals, in which three students from each class from Year 1 to 6 competed to represent our school at the Regional Finals. Congratulations to all students who competed and to the students who represented our school in the Regional finals on Friday.

Scottish Festival
A huge thank you to Mrs Lapi-an for her work in organising and coordinating our stall at the Scottish Festival. The day was a great success in our continued fund-raising efforts, and we painted a lot of faces, sold a lot of lucky dips, plants and books and gave away a lot of chocolates. Thankyou to the staff and parents who gave up time to help on the day or who donated items and to our wonderful community for continuing to support us.
Congratulations to the raffle winners:
1st Prize – Jaime Minns
2nd Prize – Lynne Warden
3rd Price – Alice
4th Prize - Ruth
Parish Picnic
On Sunday the 28th of May we opened our school grounds to the combined Wingham and Taree Parishes for a picnic. It was a lovely day full of games and fun. It was a great opportunity for our school to continue to connect with our Parish.
ICAS
Our school will be offering students from Years 2 – 6 the opportunity to sit the ICAS assessments again this year. Parents will need to purchase the assessments online using the information which has been provided in a note that has been sent home via Compass. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs Hunt.
Vinnies Winter Appeal
Last week we launched our Vinnies Winter Appeal. Thankyou to all those families who have donated so far. I am so proud as Principal to know that our students and families make a difference to those who need it.
Please join me in a prayer for those less fortunate than us, who may not have enough food, shelter, or warmth to keep them safe during winter. That they find through the generosity of others a little relief.
God Bless
