Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a fabulous two weeks. It is always exciting when we begin to prepare to welcome our new Kinder cohort to school and last Friday, we held our Early birds liturgy and meet and greet. Our Year 5 students were extremely excited to meet their new buddies and are looking forward to helping them when they officially start our Early birds Transition program this Friday.
Congratulations to Reuby and Scarlet
Earlier this year Reuby and Scarlett entered a Diocesan art competition for National Children’s Week. Reuby was successful in being included in the digital art book and Scarlet was included with the online photo gallery. Well done girls.
Paint and Sip
Thank you to everyone who came along and joined our Paint and Sip evening. It was a wonderful night and many people asked when we were doing the next one! Thank you to the team who helped set up and pack up, Mrs Lapi-an who coordinated the evening and Jodie Raison for manning the canteen.
Please join me in a prayer for our 2024 Kinder families and students, that they feel a sense of belonging and community at St Joseph’s.
God Bless
Prime Minister Award
'Being a steward of creation’, ‘Trying your best’, ‘Speaking with kindness’ and ‘Being a responsible learner’ are some of the qualities that teachers consider when awarding ‘Prime Minister’ at our weekly assembly. It is an acknowledgement of the student’s efforts and they have the privilege of wearing the badge with honour, of suggesting a focus the school can work on, award Gotchas to other students at lunch time as well as earning Gotchas for themselves. Congratulations to Foxx Williams ( Week 3) and Theo Johnson (Week 4).

MJR Awards
As part of our MJR system, we acknowledge that the following students, Harley Stewart, Alysandra Drew, Thomas Marshall, Kade Bailey and Karlina Stoehr have reached 100 Gotchas; Peter Stewart and Tyceon Xuereb have reached 200 Gotchas and Ashlea Linehan, Macey O'Neile and Savannah Hagarty have reached 300 Gotchas. Well Done!

Whizzy school visit......
Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2 were fortunate enough to have a very special guest from our local council called "Whizzy". Whizzy shared with the children the importance of water in our life and how we are made up of 60% water. They were reminded to recycle and encouraged to find alternatives to using crunchy plastic bottles such as reusable water containers. Our new message is to rethink and not purchase those items as this will help us to reduce landfill, pollution and the destruction to our marine life. Before leaving, Whizzy entertained the students with a water rap. We look forward to Whizzy returning next year. Until then rethink...Do we really need those plastic items?

SNOW CONE DAY
On Friday 27th October Year 6 held a fundraiser to help raise money for their end of year celebrations. A big thankyou to Bunnings for the Snow Cones.
