Prime Minister Award
‘Being a steward of creation’, ‘Trying your best’, ‘Speaking with kindness’ and ‘Being a responsible learner’ are some of the qualities that teachers consider when awarding ‘Prime Minister’ at our weekly assembly. Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 were privileged to have a visit from Glenn Webster the Depot Manager of Wingham Buslines. Glenn shared with us the rules of riding the bus and how to keep each other safe.
· Stand back from the kerb and gutter while the bus comes in and stops
· Show your bus pass as you enter the bus
· Sit down in a seat and put your seatbelt on
· Stay seated with your seatbelt on until the bus stops at your stop
· Talk with a friendly voice so as not to disturb the driver
· Don’t purposely distract the driver
· Keep your feet off the seats
· Save your food for when you get off the bus
· Have Mum/Dad/Carers collect you from the same side as where the bus drops off
· Keep clear of the bus ensuring not to walk around the bus
Glenn reminded us of the bus updates and that the seats are now made from a fire-retardant fabric making it even more important to look after them.
Most importantly is if you are changing buses or getting on or off at a different stop you must have a signed letter from your parents/carers.
Let’s all stay bus safe and keep this in mind when we use this community service.
