Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have a new Pope, Pope Leo XIV. Over the weekend the installation mass was celebrated formally, installing Pope Leo XIV into his new role as leader of our Catholic Church. There are always many questions when we gain a new person in leadership in any role. The leader of the Catholic Church is one such role. Pope Leo’s words during his installation mass can give us much hope as he vowed to work for unity and condemned the exploitation of the poor, allowing the Catholic Church to be a sign of peace in the world.
At the end of our newsletter, I have included a prayer for Pope Leo XIV which you might light to take some time to reflect on.
Mother’s Day
Our school recently celebrated Mother’s Day as a community. Our Year 6 students let a beautiful liturgy celebrating our mother’s and recognising the importance of all mother figures in our lives. Students were keen to share their portraits of their mums and then welcome them into the classrooms to have some learning conversations. We then finished off with a shared lunch and the drawing of the raffle. Thank you to Mrs Lapi-an for her work in coordinating our Mother’s Day Stall and to our parent helpers. Congratulations also to our raffle winners. I hope that all our mums had a lovely Mother’s Day weekend.
Cooking with Mrs Hunt
Congratulations to Joe who chose Cooking with Mrs Hunt as his PB4L reward. He enjoyed making some chocolate spiders to share with his class.
