St Joseph’s Partners with The University of Newcastle to offer the Children’s University Program for children in Years 2 to 6. This program is open to all children who love to learn. Students involved in the Children’s University Newcastle (CU) are encouraged to connected with new learning opportunities and discover what educational events/experiences they can do at home; in their local and regional areas. Children can be connected to learning activities across Australia.
All children receive a passport book that is used to record each learning experience and the time taken to complete each opportunity. Children work towards a minimum of 30 hours to be able to join us for a community graduation ceremony in Term 4.
The School Choir was formed in 2014 and welcomes students from Kindergarten to Year 6 who have a passion for singing with others. The choir aims to help students learn the skills required for singing and performing and allows them to share this with both school and community members. 2018 is the first year that students will be entering and performing at the Taree Eisteddfod in the small school’s category.
